Second Generation® FIT is a five minute, in-office colon cancer screening test, with no diet or medicine restrictions. Second Generation FIT® is designed to detect hemoglobin levels - a biomarker for Colorectal Cancer, Diverticulitis, Crohn's Disease, IBD and IBS - at 50 ng/mL in a spontaneously passed stool. Studies have shown that the overall sensitivity for occult (hidden) blood is 98% while the specificity is 96%; leaving the accuracy of Second Generation FIT® at 97%.
