About Second Generation FIT®: FIT has been a mainstream colon cancer test in physician's offices since 2008. In 2008, the American College of Gastroenterology introduced new guidelines recommending that the older method of CRC screening be abandoned completely by referring physicians. Since then, hundreds of studies have been put forth demonstrating the clinical efficacy of the FIT test. Nearly every authoritative body, including the American Cancer Society, the U.S. Joint Preventative Task Force, the American College of Gastroenterology, JAMA, et.al. recommends screening with FIT annually, and a colonoscopy every ten years. In 2014 Pinnacle BioLabs introduced Second Generation FIT®, an FDA cleared out-the-counter fecal immunochemical test. Proof of concept was achieved in 2016, with nearly 500,000 kits sold. In 2017 redesigns were done based on A/B testing and in 2017 the final concept was introduced. Second Generation FIT® is the number one selling colon cancer test in North America, with a large presence in Europe as of this writing.
